Whenever a great soul comes on this earth his mission is not limited to a particular place only but pervades through out the world. Thus is the Sri aurobindo's action that started working since he was born in 1872 in Calcutta. When Sri Aurobindo settled himself at Pondicherry and founded an Ashram with the help of the Mother and their work went on and on spreading through out the world in the subtle and physical levels.
When I was in near Delhi in 1982 I read a book of Sri aurobindo and I was very much impressed by it and leaving everything behind right away left for Pondichery. On my arrivel the atmosphare3 of the Ashram was such a powerful that I decieded to stay for life. By the Grace of the Mother sand Sri Aurobindo and the Ashram's environment itself helped me inwardly and outwardly to germinate the seeds of the mother's and Sri Aurobindo's work and I put forth myself totally in the service of the Ashram without expectation anything in exchange, whatever will happen will hapen by the Grace of the mother and Sri Aurobindo, with this attitude I spent my life's 12 years. The years passede like a month. During those 12 years I did all sorts of works including cleaning the toilets, vassels, floor and oven of the Ashram Bakery as the worship of the Divine. By the grace I never felt tired and could feel the Divine love and protection all the time.
20 years had passed since I had left Nepal and I thought of sharing the Knowledge, love, light and Sadhana of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo with my family members and others also a strong feeling arose from my depth of heart to tread the land again that I had trod 20 years ago till I was just 12 years old. And within a few days I crossed the Indian border into Nepal from Sunauli. I had even forgotton my mother tongue a bit and I could hardly speak it with mixed Hindi and English words. As I entered the interior parts of western Nepal, towards North to my native village Purkot in Gulmi district I was expecting the same beautiful Nepal and its lovely people with full of love but instead I found hatred and the feeling of dislikes and selfishness created by political ambitious parties opposing each others supporters even not visiting the same family if they happened to believe in different party. And the children leaving the importance of education aside every party wanted them to use on their side for their political benefit. It was 2049 Vikram Sambat Paush month. This very scenario moves me a lot and persuaded me to start something here in Nepal to create a new divinise society whose aim would be to serve only the Divine and no other Aim. Also on the Top of the peak of Mundane one day when I wanted to walk on the fresh snow and soon I was there and seeing the sky touching Himalayas in front of me. I saw light descending on the Dhaulagiri Ranges and as inner persuasion obliged me to dedicate the life and energy for me to dedicate the life and energy for starting a Centre to materialise the Ideology of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother in nepal.
Now, what you see here at Sri Aurobindo Yoga Mandir, Thankot, Kathmandu is the result of that experience on that peak. Since there was no proper ashram of Sri Aurobindo here in Nepal. I realized that I was sent to Pondichery to prepare myself of this work here and because of their Grace and our incessant effort Sri Aurobindo Yoga Mandir has grown from one inmate, that is myself, to 90 inmates including almost 70 children 20 adults. We want to be totally self-sufficient not depending on any organization or government. Though we are not yet self-sufficient to maintain the present cost we are able to earn the needed amount that is to say if we want to buy some land or construct more buildings we need some extra help. For the time being we were getting some help from friends and one of my brother who lives in New Zealand. Though it is not that easy to run Ashram here like India where we have millions of Ashrams and there most of the peoples have respect love for such places here the general attitude is different because of lack of knowledge, education, and prosperity.
Sri Matri-Aurobindo Vidyalaya
Sri Matri-Aurobindo Vidyalaya was started here with the methodology suggested by Her Divine The Mother and Sri Aurobindo. Right now, there are 100 students and Sadhak-sadhikas involved in "Gyan-Sadhana".
We at present run several income generating activities such as:
1) We sell the extra milk from our cows diary.
2) We make natural incense and try to sell them abroad.
3) We have a grinding mill for the rice, wheat and other things.
4) We run a yoga centre for teaching the Hatha Yoga.
5) We run a Naturopathy clinic for natural healing system.
6) We run a guest house for the visitors who would like to stay here.
Like there we have several activities that we all the members of the Ashram run this place as the service to the Divine; when it is for the Divine, it of course will be, for whole humanity. Our dedication and love will surely help in bringing a new race upon this world that will selflessly serve the humanity to persuade the mass towards materials perfection, divine harmony and peace.
"Sri Aurobindo came tell us "one need not leave the earth to find the truth. One need not leave the life to find his soul, one need not abandon the world or have only limited beliefs to enter into relation with Divine. The divine is everywhere, in everything and if He is hidded, it is because we do not take the trouble to discover Him" - The Mother.
With above -mentioned ideology we would love to start several Ashrams in all over Nepal if things go accordingly. Without the Divine Will nothing is possible. We finally pray to the Almighty to bring Peace and Prosperity and Knowledge all over Nepal and Universe.
